Plant Description
Veronica Anniversary Blue is a delightful addition to any garden, offering a long
season of vibrant colour with minimal fuss. This hardy perennial brings upright spires
of vivid blue flowers that begin blooming in its very first year and will continue their
show right through to the first frosts of Winter. The flowers rise elegantly above a
neat base of clean, healthy green foliage, creating a fresh, uplifting presence in the
border.
Perfectly suited to a soft, romantic planting style, Veronica Anniversary Blue looks
wonderful nestled among other cottage garden favourites. It attracts bees and
butterflies, adding life and movement to the garden and its generous flowering habit
ensures there's always something to enjoy.
This variety grows happily in full sun or partial sun and is as versatile as it is
beautiful. While lovely in beds and borders, it is equally well suited to patio
containers or even a hanging basket, where its long flowering season can be
enjoyed up close. Its tidy, upright growth makes it ideal for smaller spaces where
every bloom counts.
To plant, simply place it where it will receive good light, water it well after planting
and allow it space to grow. Spacing of around 30–40cm is ideal in mixed plantings.
Trimming spent blossoms to just below the base of the flower will encourage a
second flush of colour, helping the plant to keep flowering generously right through
summer. Once the season draws to a close and the foliage begins to die back, the
plant will benefit from being cut back to tidy it for the winter ahead.
Veronica Anniversary Blue is a reliable, easy-going plant that brings lasting charm,
structure and pollinator-friendly beauty to any garden, particularly those with a
relaxed, cottage-style character. A timeless and harmonious border addition that
bursts with colour and life.
