Plant Description

Verbena Santos is a compact and upright perennial prized for its strong, well-
branched habit that creates a neat, tidy mound of fresh green foliage. This resilient
variety thrives in full sun, producing clusters of vibrant purple flowers that sit
gracefully atop slender, wiry stems, creating a delicate yet striking display. These rich
purple blooms appear in dense, rounded heads, bursting with colour from June
through to September, offering a long-lasting floral show that enlivens borders,
containers or mixed beds.

One of its standout features is its strong resistance to powdery mildew, making
Verbena Santos a particularly low-maintenance and dependable choice for
gardeners seeking beautiful blooms without the fuss. The dense flower clusters
attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, encouraging wildlife and adding
gentle movement to your garden.

The plant’s compact size and upright growth habit allow it to fit seamlessly into
cottage-style gardens as well as more structured settings. It also prefers well-drained
soil and benefits from allowing the top inch of the soil to dry between watering.
Verbena Santos dislikes soggy roots.

This is truly one of my favourite plants to grow and have in the garden, its vibrant
colour, sturdy constitution and generous flowering period make Verbena ‘Santos’ a
dependable, beautiful, and wildlife-friendly perennial that brings joy season after
season.

What does pot diameter mean?

Pot diameter is measured along the top of each pot to give an indication of overall plant size on arrival.

We only offer plants in 13cm or 11cm pots. This means that plants are established and ready to be planted straight into your garden as soon as they arrive.

*Our specially designed boxes require no plastic inners. The plant pots are (recyclable) plastic.
