Description
English Thyme is one of the most widely grown thymes for culinary use, featuring small, dark, aromatic leaves that are a staple in cooking. It adds depth to soups, roasts, marinades, stews and casseroles and pairs beautifully with roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips.
This hardy herb thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it ideal for rockeries, borders or containers. Easy to maintain, a light pruning keeps the plant compact and encourages fresh growth, while occasional feeding in spring is all it needs—too much fertiliser can reduce the flavour of the leaves.
English Thyme is drought-tolerant, dislikes overwatering and the more sunshine it receives, the stronger its flavour becomes.
Beyond the kitchen, it also makes an attractive ornamental plant in the garden.
Why choose Rowlands Plants?
We are a family-run nursery that has been growing strong, healthy, vigorous plant since 1957.
What does pot diameter mean?
Pot diameter is measured along the top of each pot to give an indication of overall plant size on arrival.
We only offer plants in 13cm or 11cm pots. This means that plants are established and ready to be planted straight into your garden as soon as they arrive.
