Plant Description

Known for its bright green/ yellow variegated foliage, Salvia (Sage) Icterina makes a useful addition to your culinary herb garden, whilst forming an attractive foliage for your garden. Its leaves are slightly oblong, with a textured surface. Its growth habit is compact, reaching between 12- 18 inches tall, (30-45 cm), with a canopy spread of up to 24 inches ( 60Cm) making it an ideal component for a small kitchen garden.

Icterina’s flowers are similar to other sage flowers, producing small lavender blue flowers in late spring- early summer, making it a source of pollen for bees and insects. The plant is relatively drought tolerant once established, and can be planted in a sunny location, preferring a well drained soil. It can also be grown in pots, but care must be taken to protect the plant from severe frosts over winter, otherwise it would experience die back.

What does pot diameter mean?

Pot diameter is measured along the top of each pot to give an indication of overall plant size on arrival.

We only offer plants in 13cm or 11cm pots. This means that plants are established and ready to be planted straight into your garden as soon as they arrive.

*Our specially designed boxes require no plastic inners. The plant pots are (recyclable) plastic.
