Plant Description
The deep, intense purple flowers of the ranunculus are guaranteed to stand out with a stunning display of blooms in your spring garden, flowering from March onwards. Each bloom sits proudly atop a long, elegant stem, with flowers that resemble roses and peonies thanks to their layered, rosette-like petals. These petals are arranged in tight, concentric circles, forming a spiraled shape that gradually unfurls as the flower matures, revealing its full beauty.
Ranunculus can be planted directly in garden beds or grown just as happily in flower boxes or pots. They thrive in sunny locations and require at least six hours of full sun per day to perform at their best. While they don’t tolerate hard frosts, they are generally low-maintenance and easy to grow.
To keep your plants healthy, make sure the soil is well-drained—their tuberous roots are prone to rot if left in soggy soil. Water regularly to keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid overwatering. Once they begin to flower, feed them with a balanced fertilizer every 2 to 3 weeks to encourage strong, lasting blooms.
From early spring, you'll enjoy a striking show of rich, deep purple ranunculus—an elegant and eye-catching addition to any spring garden or sunny balcony.
Why choose Rowlands Plants?

What does pot diameter mean?
Pot diameter is measured along the top of each pot to give an indication of overall plant size on arrival.
