Plant Description
Primroses are generally easy to care for, and the Primrose Obsidian is no exception.
This naturally compact variety is hardy down to -16°C. Its delicate Rose Antique
blooms create a striking contrast against the intensely dark, lush green foliage,
adding a touch of elegance to any garden. The beautiful flowers begin to bloom from
late January onwards, offering an early burst of colour.
To keep your primroses happy, plant them in moist but well-draining soil, avoiding
areas that become boggy or waterlogged. It's best to allow a spacing of 6 to 12
inches between each plant to give them room to grow. Use a general-purpose feed,
but take care not to over-fertilise, as this can result in excessive leafy growth with
fewer blooms. Regular deadheading of the spent flowers will encourage continued
flowering throughout the season. These primroses thrive best in partial shade, where
they can enjoy a balance of light and shelter.
Steeped in myth and folklore, primroses have long been associated with magic. In
ancient times, a patch of primroses was believed to mark the entrance to fairy
realms, said to bring luck and good fortune to those who found them.

What does pot diameter mean?
Pot diameter is measured along the top of each pot to give an indication of overall plant size on arrival.
