Plant Description
Primula Husky Selected Mix is a vibrant and cheerful collection of fully hardy
primroses, specially chosen for strong and reliable garden performance. This variety
of primrose, is bred to thrive through the colder months and provide a beautiful burst
of colour just when the garden needs it most.
We send out plants from our greenhouse that are ready to go at the point of
dispatch, carefully selecting whatever is looking its best at the time. This means
you’ll receive a beautiful mix of the season’s strongest colours including, rich reds,
sunny yellows with warm orange eyes, soft apple blossom pinks, pure white with
glowing centres, vibrant oranges, raspberry punch tones, sky blues and even striking
bicolours like deep orange edged in burgundy. Each one is a little gem, and every
delivery arrives as a joyful surprise, bursting with colour and character.
Ideal for autumn and early spring bedding displays, these primulas are perfect for
pots, containers, window boxes, and garden borders. Their neat, compact habit
make them especially effective when planted en masse or tucked in among spring
bulbs for a layered effect. The flowers are produced in generous numbers above tidy
rosettes of green foliage and are designed to hold up beautifully against cooler
weather.
Caring for Primula Husky is wonderfully simple. They prefer a position in partial
shade to full sun, and will do best in moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly in dry
spells, especially when newly planted and deadhead spent blooms to keep them
looking their best and to encourage more flowers. A little slow-release fertiliser or
liquid feed during the growing season will help support their long flowering period.
Whether used to brighten a bare spot in the border or to fill a container by the front
door, the Primrose Husky Selected Mix brings seasonal colour and a dependable
splash of joy from autumn right through to spring.
Why choose Rowlands Plants?
We are a family-run nursery that has been growing strong, healthy, vigorous plant since 1957.
What does pot diameter mean?
Pot diameter is measured along the top of each pot to give an indication of overall plant size on arrival.
We only offer plants in 13cm or 11cm pots. This means that plants are established and ready to be planted straight into your garden as soon as they arrive.
