Plant Description
Penstemon 'Partybells Violet' is a real treasure for the garden, naturally compact
and full of charm, with elegant, bell-shaped flowers in a rich violet hue, each bloom
revealing a soft white throat inside that seems to glow in the light. Bees absolutely
adore them and are often seen buzzing happily from bell to bell, making this plant as
wildlife-friendly as it is beautiful.
This lovely variety is a naturally dwarf, half-hardy perennial, which means it stays
nice and neat without growing too tall, making it perfect for smaller borders, pots or
the front of a mixed bed. It has strong lateral branching, so the plant fills out
beautifully with lots of flowering stems, giving a good, bushy shape and a generous
display of colour all through summer and into early autumn.
Plant it in a sunny or lightly shaded spot with well-drained soil, somewhere it won’t sit
in winter wet. It looks wonderful in cottage-style borders alongside lavender and
salvias, or even in a terracotta pot on a patio where you can admire its delicate bells
up close. The violet tones also make a lovely contrast with soft pinks, silvers and
creams.
With a little deadheading and protection from harsh frost, perhaps a cosy mulch or
some shelter in colder areas Penstemon 'Partybells Violet’ will reward you with
months of flower and a touch of gentle cottage garden magic year after year.

What does pot diameter mean?
