Plant Description
Fuchsia ‘Delta Sarah’ is a hardy bush fuchsia with charming, bell-shaped flowers that look just like little ringing bells with a frilly skirt. The violet-blue inner petals contrast beautifully with the crisp white sepals, creating a striking and elegant display.
These compact plants are perfect for borders, raised beds, or containers, adding colour and interest throughout the garden. This fuschia Delta Sarah grows best in fertile, well-drained soil, with plenty of light, sun or gentle shade and some shelter from strong winds.
With regular feeding and deadheading, it produces a long season of blooms. During colder winters, the top growth may die back, but new shoots usually emerge from the base in spring. In my garden, I’ve often thought I’d lost this variety, only to spot tiny green shoots pushing up through the soil, a delightful reminder of its resilience.
Pruning away the old stems in mid to late April allows the fresh growth to flourish and keeps the plant looking neat and bushy.
