Plant Description
Echinacea Lakota in Red is a bold yet charming perennial that brings a warm,
cottagey splash of deep colour to summer borders. Its rich crimson-red petals are
slim, slightly reflexed and gently arch back from a central, coppery cone giving the
flower a relaxed, daisy-like grace. The blooms rise above compact mounds of fresh
green foliage.
This variety is a true magnet for pollinators, with its nectar-rich flowers drawing in
bees and butterflies from midsummer well into early autumn. Its warm colouring pairs
beautifully with golden yellows and soft pinks in a mixed border.
Plant in full sun and well-drained soil for best results, it doesn’t like to get too soggy. Lakota Red thrives in sunny cottage gardens, wildlife borders and wild grass style
plantings. Drought-tolerant once established and easy to care for, it’s a rewarding,
long-lived bloomer that brings heart and warmth to the garden.
