Courgette 'Midnight'

Courgette ‘Midnight’ is a high-yielding variety that produces dark green, glossy
fruits on a compact, bushy plant. The fruits are completely spineless, making them
very easy to pick. The plant is ideal for both greenhouses or gardens. Its reliability,
abundant production and ease of harvesting make it a favourite among home
gardeners.

To grow Courgette ‘Midnight’ successfully, plant directly outdoors once all risk of frost
has passed, which is typically in late May or early June.

Choose a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil. Courgettes thrive in soil that
has been enriched with compost or well-rotted manure.

Water regularly at the base, keeping the soil consistently moist, especially during
flowering and fruiting. Mulching around the plant helps retain moisture and suppress
weeds. Feed every two weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser once flowers appear to
encourage continuous fruiting.

Harvest fruits when they are around 15–20 cm long for the best flavour and to
encourage the plant to keep producing. Regular picking also prevents the fruits from
becoming oversized and tough.

With proper care, Courgette ‘Midnight’ provides a long season of glossy, tender, and
delicious courgettes.
