Description

A true garden classic, Black Beauty is one of the most popular and reliable
aubergine varieties for home growers. With its glossy, deep purple-black skin and
rounded, plump shape, this time-honoured variety produces medium size fruits that
are just as beautiful as they are delicious.

Perfect for warm, sunny spots, Black Beauty thrives in a greenhouse or a sheltered
garden bed, ideally south-facing and protected from strong winds. The plants grow in
a neat, compact form, making them an excellent choice for containers, raised beds,
or smaller gardens where space is limited.

Each plant yields smooth-skinned, firm-fleshed aubergines that are perfect for
grilling, roasting, or using in classic Mediterranean dishes such as moussaka,
ratatouille, or lasagna. These are richly flavoured fruits that bring a true summer twist
to any kitchen garden.

To grow successfully, Aubergine - Black Beauty prefers full sun and responds well to
regular feeding throughout the season. It is best grown with a little support or
staking, which helps the plant manage the weight of its fruit and ensures the best
possible development.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned gardener, Aubergine Black Beauty is a
rewarding, flavour-packed variety that brings beauty, productivity and a touch of
Mediterranean charm to your garden.

What does pot diameter mean?

Pot diameter is measured along the top of each pot to give an indication of overall plant size on arrival.

We only offer plants in 13cm or 11cm pots. This means that plants are established and ready to be planted straight into your garden as soon as they arrive.

*Our specially designed boxes require no plastic inners. The plant pots are (recyclable) plastic.
